Leeds United remain well on course to win a long-awaited promotion back into the Premier League this season under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa.

The Whites are currently sat second in the Championship table, and will be keen to pull away from their promotion-chasing rivals at the earliest of opportunities.

Leeds had been significantly clear of the teams in the play-off places, but an alarming dip in form in recent weeks saw the likes of Fulham, Brentford and Nottingham Forest edge closer to them in the second-tier standings.

But they picked up a much-needed three points in their last game against Bristol City, as they moved three points clear of third-placed Fulham.

One player that has shown real improvement since last year's campaign is Jack Harrison, who played the full 90 minutes against the Robins last weekend.

The winger has five goals and six assists to his name in all competitions this season, and will be hoping he can build on some impressive showings as the season progresses.

Harrison's former New York City team-mate David Villa was quick to respond to Harrison's social update, and is clearly impressed by what he has seen from the ()-year-old so far with Leeds this season.

Harrison scored 14 goals in 61 appearances for New York City before making the move to Manchester City back in 2018. He has been sent out on loan to Leeds in the last two seasons, and has played his part in their push for promotion this season.

The Verdict:

It's good to see that Villa is still tracking Harrison's progress with Leeds.

He's really impressed me this season, and I think his end product has shown vast improvement compared to last year's campaign with Marcelo Bielsa's men.

Harrison scored the winner against Reading in the reverse fixture, and he'll be hoping for a similar outcome this weekend, as Leeds look to extend their advantage over their promotion rivals in the Championship.

It won't be an easy game by any stretch of the imagination though, as Reading are heading into the game off the back of an impressive 3-0 win over play-off chasing Sheffield Wednesday in their last game.
