David Prutton shares score prediction as Peterborough United prepare for Nottingham Forest clash

Relegation back to League One could be confirmed tomorrow when Peterborough United welcome Nottingham Forest to the Weston Homes Stadium.

Currently sitting seven points from safety, an escape from the relegation zone looks unlikely but remains within the realms of possibility.

However, Grant McCann’s side face perhaps the toughest task in the Championship at the moment, and that is securing a positive result against Nottingham Forest.

The Reds have won six out of their last seven Championship matches, scoring 19 goals and conceding three during that time.

Forest have improved massively since the appointment of Steve Cooper, with the Midlands club now dreaming of a return to top-flight football.

Only die-hard Nottingham Forest supporters will get atleast 20/25 on this higher or lower quiz

Is the City Ground's capacity higher or lower than 30,000?

Issuing his score prediction via his Sky Sports column, David Prutton believes that Peterborough’s relegation will be confirmed via a 3-1 defeat to the high-flying Reds.

The verdict

Peterborough have shown encouraging signs in recent weeks, picking up eight points from their last four matches, however, it is hard to argue with a Forest win here.

The Reds have been in frightening form in recent weeks, and since Cooper took charge in game week eight, only Fulham have accumulated more points than the Midlands club.

The Welshman’s side are the team to fear in the division at the moment, and whilst suffering a slight blip with a defeat at Luton Town, they bounced back excellently with an emphatic 4-0 victory over West Brom.

Forest should be able to secure maximum points in this one without too much fuss, although, football does have its mysterious ways.
