Former Nottingham Forest midfielder David Prutton has backed the Reds to get back to winning ways when they take on Peterborough United this afternoon.

Steve Cooper enjoyed a brilliant start after arriving at the City Ground, but the past few weeks have been tough, with the East Midlands outfit winning just one of their last seven fixtures, although they have only lost once in that period.

Forest will be targeting three points against The Posh, and, writing in his regular Sky Sports prediction column, pundit Prutton went for a 2-0 victory for his old club.

Whilst Darren Ferguson's side have shown they can pick up results in the league, Forest will start as firm favourites as the visitors have had a torrid time on the road this season, losing nine of their ten league games, with their only points coming in a win at Hull.

They will be desperate for the points though, as they are four points from 21st placed Reading as we approach the halfway mark in the campaign.

The verdict

Many will see this as a home banker so you can't really argue with Prutton's prediction here. Peterborough's away record is dismal and not only are they struggling for results, but they have lost heavily on several occasions.

Having said that, Forest's form at the City Ground isn't great either, but Cooper will see this as a fantastic opportunity to get back to winning ways.

So, it's down to the players to deliver but if they aren't at their best then the visitors are capable of pulling off a shock.
