Sheffield Wednesday have endured a very difficult season so far, and former player David Prutton expects that to continue when they take on Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield tomorrow.

Tony Pulis was appointed as the Owls boss last month, but he hasn't had the desired impact in the opening weeks, with Wednesday picking up just three points from his first five fixtures.

And, things don't get any easier for the club, with a tough trip to Huddersfield next up.

The Terriers have been inconsistent under new boss Carlos Corberan, who is implementing a new style of play. But, they have been very impressive on occasions, including last time out as they outplayed QPR and won 2-0.

Therefore, Prutton makes Huddersfield favourites, as he backed them for another 2-0 success when writing in his regular Sky Sports column.

However, recent history shows it's not a fixture that the Terriers have done well in on their own patch. Wednesday won by two goals when the sides met last season, and they are unbeaten in eight away to their rivals. Incredibly, Huddersfield haven't scored in those games as well.

The verdict

This is a very tough game to call, and it's a real clash of styles that makes it an intriguing game.

Having said that, you can see why Prutton thinks Huddersfield will win. They play some excellent football and with a high-intensity that makes them hard to play against.

Yet, Wednesday should be confident and they will hope to continue their remarkable form at Huddersfield.
