David Prutton shares his prediction ahead of Bristol City’s clash with Watford

Watford are facing a tricky test as they travel to face Bristol City on Wednesday night.

The Hornets are firmly in the promotion mix after losing just two of their opening 12 league fixtures.

However a clash with the Robins will certainly be a real acid test for them, with Dean Holden’s side sitting one point ahead of the recently relegated side.

In a clash that has the potential to be a very exciting game, Sky Sports’ pundit David Prutton is expecting the sides to cancel each other out with a 2-2 draw his prediction.

Writing for Sky Sports, Prutton said: “October was a month to forget for City fans, as they followed up a win over Nottingham Forest with three defeats and two draws to drop from first to 10th.

Quiz: Did these 17 Watford players ever actually score a league goal for the club?

Has Valon Behrami scored a league goal for Watford?

“Dean Holden’s men have put that behind them and come into the game off the back of three straight wins.

Watford are, as expected, still right in the mix for the top six but it’s largely thanks to their home form.

“While they have won five of their six games at Vicarage Road, on the road they have taken just six points from six games.

“I think they may just sneak one more here.”

The verdict

This could be a very entertaining encounter.

Both sides have the capability to really take the game to their opponents and so it’ll be interesting to see how this one plays out.

On current form I’d have to back Watford, but in truth it could really go either way.
