Blackburn Rovers will be hoping to close the gap on the play-off spots with a victory over Queens Park Rangers this weekend.

Tony Mowbray's side are on a four-match unbeaten run in the Championship at the moment - a sequence that has taken them up to eighth position in the table.

Back-t0-back victories over Middlesbrough and Luton Town will have done wonders for their confidence and they'll certainly be hoping to make it three wins on the spin as they travel to West London to take on the Hoops.

However confidence is high in the QPR camp as well.

The Hoops have lost just one of their last five fixtures in the league and that run has moved them out of touching distance to the bottom three.

Their latest result was a 2-1 away victory over promotion contenders Watford at Vicarage Road on Monday evening - a result which they'll be determined to build upon against Blackburn.

But while QPR will be filled with confidence, Sky Sports' EFL expert David Prutton is expecting the visitors to prosper.

Prutton has predicted a 2-1 victory for Blackburn at the Kiyan Prince Community Stadium - a result which would certainly put the pressure on the sides currently occupying the top six positions in the Championship.

The verdict

This would be a massive result for Blackburn Rovers.

Things haven't gone exactly to plan for Queens Park Rangers so far this season but you have to give them credit for the positive run that they've put together in recent weeks.

That said, Blackburn are one of the most exciting teams in the Championship right now and it'll be really interesting to see if they can put pressure on the play-off spots with victory here.
