David Prutton has stated that Leeds must be wary of Preston as the Lilywhites are operating under less expectation this season.
The Whites have had an impressive start to the season and that sees them sit in third place after the opening 16 games of the new campaign.
It's set to be another tight run in as teams at the top end of the Championship table look to make a dart for the Premier League.
Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping that his side can learn from last season's play-off experience and try and stay competitive right until the last minute of this year's campaign.
They have players who can hurt any side on their day in the division, and one team who could rival them to a place in the top-flight is Preston. Prutton has stated that the Lilywhites may well be a side that Leeds have to be wary of this term.
Speaking in his Yorkshire Evening Post column, Prutton said: "Preston – who Leeds are level on points with – have been slightly more of a surprise package from what we have seen so far but my goodness when they are on song they are a very good footballing side and that is something that Leeds have got to be wary of because maybe they are operating under a lesser weight of expectation which is doing them a favour at this moment in time."

The Verdict
It's set to be a quite thrilling rest of the season in the Championship, as no one can quite call who will be promoted to the Premier League. Leeds have started very well, but have a number of teams who are following suit and battling at the top end of the league.
The Whites have to make sure that they don't let the pressure get to them as they did last season when they lost to Derby County in the play-offs at Elland Road.
If anyone can guide them to the top-flight then it's Marcelo Bielsa but he has to install a mentality during the bigger games at the latter stages of the season to ensure that they don't suffer the same fate as last year.
