Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has backed QPR to extend their unbeaten run to four matches by picking up a point when they welcome Derby County to West London this evening.

The Rs enter the match following a run which has seen them collect five points from their last three games, and Prutton wrote in his Sky Sports column that he thinks Mark Warburton's side will draw 2-2 with the Rams when they face off this evening.

Derby make the trip down south aiming for their first victory since the 3-2 success over Swansea earlier this month, but Phillip Cocu's side are currently in a solid run of form after suffering defeat just once in their last six games in all competitions.

The Pride Park outfit sealed a 1-1 draw with promotion-chasing Fulham in their last outing on Friday night, with Wayne Rooney's spot-kick putting the Rams in front before they were pegged back by Aleksandar Mitrovic's neat strike.

Meanwhile, QPR also picked up a point over the weekend as they held Nottingham Forest to a goalless draw at the City Ground, with this meaning both the Hoops and Derby are sitting in the bottom half of the table heading into the clash.

Both teams could venture into the top half of the second-tier standings with a victory at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, while a QPR triumph would see the 15th-placed side leapfrog the 13th-placed Rams in the table.

The Verdict

Both sides will view this as a big opportunity to return to winning ways following their respective draws over the weekend, with the two teams standing a slim chance of launching a late play-off bid if they can assemble a prolonged winning run.

QPR's performances have picked up of late following two impressive goalless draws with Swansea and Nottingham Forest sandwiched either side of a 4-2 win over Stoke, while Derby acquitted themselves well against Fulham on Friday night.

This will be an interesting clash between two sides who are sitting just outside the play-off picture, and a draw would seem to be a fair prediction given the recent form of both teams.
