David Prutton predicts the outcome of Swansea’s trip to Cardiff

David Prutton has predicted the points to be shared in the South Wales derby on Sunday.

Swansea travel to Cardiff in what is a massive game for both sides, as either team looks to find some momentum to challenge for the top six in the division.

The Swans come into the game off the back of a victory over Charlton in the league and will be hoping to repeat their early season exploits against the Bluebirds.

Cardiff have been on a poor run and have won once in seven, and this game could be massive in terms of fans backing or turning on manager Neil Harris.

Prutton has expressed that it should be an interesting game, but he expects both teams to play out a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

Speaking in his Sky Sports column, Prutton said: “Now this is a huge game! A South Wales derby is always a fantastic occasion and this will be no different, especially with both sides competing for a spot in the top six.

“Cardiff have stuttered a little of late under Neil Harris, while Steve Cooper will hope that FA Cup hammering at QPR won’t impact upon Swansea’s league form. I’ll back a draw.”

The Verdict

It is a massive game, it always is but this one could really give one team some real momentum to go on and have a great season. The Swans will be up for it after their recent form, and they’ll want to show they can compete physically against Harris’ side.

Cooper will want his side to keep playing their football but he has to be sure that they’ll do it in the right areas of the pitch against Cardiff.

New signing Rhian Brewster could play a part in the game, and what a first match to make your debut in for the forward. He has the opportunity to become an instant hero.
