Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to build on an impressive recent win over Nottingham Forest last weekend, as they take on Bristol City on Sunday in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

The Owls were ruthless in front of goal against the Reds on Saturday, as they ran out 4-0 winners at the City Ground to move up to fifth in the Championship table.

Bristol City have recently dropped out of the play-off places after a slight dip in form, which couldn't have come at a worse time for Lee Johnson.

The Robins were beaten by both Millwall and Blackburn Rovers in the space of four days, which will make for concerning viewing for the club's supporters.

Sky Sports' EFL pundit David Prutton has issues his prediction ahead of the game, and has predicted a win for Garry Monk's side as they look to find some consistency heading towards the New Year.

"All Sheffield Wednesday can do with this potential points deduction is keep on going into every game trying to get the win and see what happens in the future. And they are making a decent fist of that right now.

"Bristol City have slipped out of the top six after back-to-back defeats and Lee Johnson will be frustrated with their recent performances. This is a chance for them to bounce back, but I think they'll be beaten at Hillsborough."

A win for Sheffield Wednesday could see them move up to as high as third in the second tier standings, whilst Bristol City could move ahead of the Owls with a win of their own at Hillsborough.

The Verdict:

I have to agree with Prutton here.

I'm still not convinced that Bristol City are ready to finish inside the top-six just yet, and Lee Johnson needs to see a response from his team at the earliest of opportunities if they're to even challenge for a play-off spot.

Sheffield Wednesday will be full of confidence after beating Nottingham Forest in their last outing, and I struggle to see anything but a home win for the Owls on Sunday.
