Nottingham Forest will be looking to put together a positive run of results when they return to action from the international break.

The Reds haven't endured the start to the season that the City Ground faithful would have originally hoped for. That poor start to the new league campaign saw Sabri Lamouchi relieved of his duties in charge of the club, with former Brighton boss Chris Hughton replacing him in the dugout.

There has been a slight upturn in results since Hughton took charge, with Nottingham Forest now sat 20th in the Championship table after their opening 11 matches of this year's campaign.

They take on Barnsley this weekend, in what is likely to be a potentially tricky test for the Reds at Oakwell.

The Tykes are sat 16th in the second-tier standings heading into this one, and have shown much-needed improvement under the management of Valérien Ismaël.

Barnsley's home form has been key to their positive results this term, with Ismaël's side losing just once on home soil so far this season in the league.

Sky Sports' EFL pundit David Prutton has predicted that Nottingham Forest will edge out Barnsley in this match though by a goal to nil.

A win for Barnsley could see them move up to as high as 11th, whereas Forest could move up to 12th if they pick up three points and other results go their way.

The Verdict:

I can see Forest running out narrow winners in this one.

They've shown much-needed improvement in all areas of the team since Chris Hughton took charge, and I think he'll take them from strength to strength going forward this term.

Barnsley will be a tough test for Nottingham Forest this weekend though, as the Tykes are another team that have impressed in this year's campaign under the management of Valérien Ismaël.

But I just think that Forest's quality going forward will see them pick up three points in this match, as they look to pull further clear of the relegation zone in the Championship.
