Ipswich Town will be looking to build upon their recent display against Burton Albion when they face Oxford United at Portman Road tomorrow.

Following a run of four games without a victory in League One, the Tractor Boys sealed all three points last weekend by defeating the Brewers 4-1.

Currently seventh in the third-tier standings, the Tractor Boys could potentially move within two points of the automatic promotion places on Saturday depending on the outcome of results elsewhere.

Given just how impressive Ipswich were against Burton, it will be intriguing to see whether manager Paul Lambert decides to make any alterations to his starting eleven for their showdown with Oxford.

Whilst the Tractor Boys will enter this particular fixture as favourites due to the fact that they are three places above the Yellows in League One, they cannot afford to underestimate Karl Robinson's side who will be determined to launch a late push for a play-off place in the coming months.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the game, pundit David Prutton has predicted that Ipswich will be held to a 1-1 draw by Oxford.

The 38-year-old said: "That was a big win for Ipswich and Paul Lambert last weekend.

"They had slipped from top of League One to out of the play-offs in just a couple of weeks, and needed to arrest the slide.

"Oxford also ended their own run of poor form with a thumping midweek win over AFC Wimbledon, so both sides will be feeling confident heading to Portman Road.

"Score draw here for me."

The Verdict

Whereas Ipswich will be under no illusion about the threat that Oxford will pose tomorrow, they should have enough quality at their disposal to edge past their League One opponents.

Providing that the likes of Alan Judge, Will Keane and Kayden Jackson can all replicate the performance levels which saw them dismantle Burton last Saturday, the Tractor Boys could send out a signal of intent to the rest of the division.

Given that Oxford have only managed to pick up two points from their last four away games, they could crumble at Portman Road if Ipswich put them under a considerable amount of pressure.

By sealing victory on Saturday, the Tractor Boys may be able to use the momentum gained from this result to push on the third-tier over the coming weeks.
