David Prutton has predicted Cardiff to come away with all three points when they travel to Charlton on Saturday.

The trip to the Valley will mark the first game of Neil Harris' tenure at the Bluebirds as he looks to get off to a winning start. The former Millwall man took over after Neil Warnock had been sacked after an inconsistent start to the campaign.

Charlton come into the game on a poor run of form, and injuries are really starting to affect the points tally. They had a scintillating start to the season but have since dropped off and will hope they can get back to winning ways on Saturday.

Prutton has expressed that he thinks it will be a tight game, but Cardiff will earn a 0-1 victory thanks to that famous new manager bounce.

Speaking in his Sky Sports column, Prutton said: "Charlton are another side who will feel the international break came at the right time after a slump in their form lately. Twenty-two points from their first 16 games is still a fantastic return, though, considering their pre-season expectations.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for Neil Harris, who takes charge of his first Cardiff game. It will be interesting to see how he tries to deviate from Neil Warnock's style of play early on as the squad has very much been shaped in his image. I'll back a bit of new manager bounce and an away win."

The Verdict

It should be a really interesting game, especially with it being Neil Harris' first game in charge of the club since taking over. Cardiff will be hoping to put together some sort of run that could potentially fire them into reckoning for the play-offs.

Charlton, on the other hand, have had a good start to the season since promotion from League One but have to sign some more players in January as their squad size is hurting them at the moment.

It should be a close game, and it could really go either way on Saturday.
