Blackburn Rovers welcome Derby County to Ewood Park on Saturday hoping that a good result could fire them up the table.

Rovers are currently 11th in the Championship table after picking up 27 points from 19 games so far.

A victory for Tony Mowbray's side could see them move up as high as seventh, with the play-off spots just four points away from the Lancashire side.

For Derby, expectations are a little bit higher.

The Rams were expected to challenge for the top six, but with 25 points from 19 games they find themselves in 14th place in the table.

Phillip Cocu's side will be determined to get back to winning ways against Blackburn, but according to David Prutton, that might not be likely.

The Sky Sports pundit has predicted a 1-1 draw for the two sides at Ewood Park - a result which, in truth, would be seen as a much better result for Blackburn than it would for the visitors.

The verdict

Blackburn Rovers' clash with Derby is a difficult one to predict.

Both sides have been a little bit inconsistent so far this term, meaning it's difficult to back either side to pick up a positive result.

David Prutton has predicted a score draw, and based on their form this term, it probably seems like the safest best.
