Sky Sports EFL pundit David Prutton has predicted that Nottingham Forest will claim back to back wins for the first time this season by beating Wycombe Wanderers 2-1 on Saturday.

Both sides grabbed late victories in midweek, with the Chairboys coming back to beat Birmingham City and Lyle Taylor's penalty ensuring Forest won their clash with Coventry City.

Neither side have won back to back games this season but, in his predictions for Sky Sports, Prutton has suggested that the Reds will do just that by winning 2-1 on Saturday.

That result would likely mean Hughton's men put more distance between them and the relegation places, while Wycombe could go bottom of the Championship if results go against them.

In truth, Forest were lucky to escape with all three points in midweek after surviving an impressive second-half display against the Sky Blues.

Even so, with another newly-promoted side visiting the City Ground tomorrow they have a fantastic opportunity to head into the international break with some momentum.

The Verdict

Despite Wycombe's midweek win, it's hard to disagree with Prutton here.

Forest put in a strong first-half performance against Coventry and managed to survive a second-half scare, meaning they head into this game with a bit of momentum – not something that has happened all too often in Hughton's tenure.

On paper, there is a huge gap in quality between the two squads and though you can take little away from the fight they've shown, Wycombe may not have enough on Saturday.
