Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted Brentford to return to winning ways by sealing a 2-0 victory when they travel to face Luton at Kenilworth Road this evening.

The Bees suffered another setback in their automatic-promotion bid as they were held to their third straight draw against Blackburn over the weekend, but Prutton believes Thomas Frank's side will claim a 2-0 win over the Hatters tonight.

Brentford have given themselves a strong chance of achieving promotion following their excellent form in recent months, but they drew 2-2 with Blackburn on Saturday afternoon despite trailing to Tony Mowbray's side until just after the hour mark.

The Griffin Park outfit will now be targeting their first victory in three matches when they travel to face a relegation-threatened Luton side this evening, with Graeme Jones' men having suffered a damaging 3-1 defeat to Charlton over the weekend.

However, the Hatters will be seeking revenge over their West London opponents following Brentford's emphatic 7-0 thrashing against them back in early December, but Prutton does not think Luton have much hope of sealing the win in this meeting.

"At times this season it's seemed as though the relegation places were all but confirmed, but Luton have rallied over the last couple of weeks and picked up some valuable points," Prutton wrote in his Sky Sports column.

"They do sit bottom of the table, though, and much like Forest, Brentford will feel a league victory is long overdue after three straight draws.

"I'm not sure it'll be comprehensive, but I'm backing a win for Thomas Frank's men."

Brentford are sitting fourth in the Championship table heading into the match and they could move up to third with a victory, while Jones' men are currently rooted to the bottom of the second-tier standings following their weekend defeat.

The Verdict

Brentford really need to engineer a return to winning ways following their three consecutive draws over recent weeks, and their clash with Luton could be the perfect time to achieve this given their 7-0 success earlier this term.

However, the Bees can expect a tougher test at Kenilworth Road this time around given Luton are battling for their lives at the bottom of the table, while they will have a point to prove following their mauling against the Bees back in December.

Brentford should certainly be expected to show their class and seal the three points against the Hatters this evening, but it might not be quite as easy for Frank's men as some may be expecting.
