Sky Sports EFL pundit David Prutton has issued his verdict on Bristol City's trip to the Den to face Millwall on Saturday, suggesting that the Lions will come away with a 1-0 win.

Gary Rowett's side drew with Birmingham City in midweek, which leaves them still six points from the top six.

After some sparkling form around the festive period, Millwall have fallen away in recent weeks but will likely be eyeing up a game against the stumbling Robins as a chance to get back to winning ways.

Lee Johnson's men are seventh and only three points outside the play-off places but have now lost three on the bounce.

They were dismal against Huddersfield Town in midweek and are in danger on going another winless run, the like of which saw them miss out on the play-offs last season.

Writing for the Sky Sports website, Prutton has predicted their winless will continued and suggested Millwall will win 1-0.

He said: "Millwall have just slipped off a little in recent weeks. The play-offs are still only six points away, but they will need to put together a big run of results to get there.

"Bristol City are well out of form right now. They will be worried that it could be another season where they drift away towards the end. They need to get out of this slump, but I just don't see that happening at The Den."

That would mean Millwall moved level on points with the Robins and could go to within three points of the top six, should results elsewhere go their way.

A dream scenario for City would be a victory at the Den and losses for both Preston North End and Brentford, who are just three points above them.

The Verdict

It's difficult to disagree with Prutton here.

City seem on another one of those winless runs and are in real danger of seeing their play-off chances slide away once again.

Millwall haven't been great recently but at home, they could just have enough to down the Robins.

A victory for either side could prove a springboard for their play-off push.
