Leeds United will be hoping to make it three out of four wins in the Sky Bet Championship tomorrow night, as they prepare to take on Brentford at Elland Road.

The encounter at Elland Road between the two sides last season was eventful to say the least, with the Whites scoring late on to salvage a point after a controversial penalty for the Bees in the first half.

Pontus Jansson was Leeds' saviour that day, but on Wednesday night, the Swede will be hoping to get one over his former club and help Brentford pick up only their second league win of the campaign.

Former Leeds midfielder and Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has offered his thoughts on the upcoming clash at Elland Road, and he has predicted a 2-1 home win for Marcelo Bielsa's side.

He said: "It was important for Leeds to get that win on Saturday. You feel that any memories of last season are well and truly banished now and everyone at the club can look forward.

"Brentford look like they could struggle for goals this season, having netted just two so far and both coming from Ollie Watkins. Will they live to regret not properly replacing Neal Maupay? Leeds to win."

Leeds will be feeling full of confidence going into Wednesday night's fixture, on the back of a fine 2-0 win away at Wigan Athletic at the weekend.

A brace from Patrick Bamford ensured that the Whites would maintain their unbeaten run, and they now sit top of the league table on goal difference.

Brentford, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Hull City at the weekend, with Ollie Watkins scoring his second goal in as many games to claim a late point for Thomas Frank's team.

The Verdict

I am going to have to agree with Prutton on this one and say that Leeds will power towards a home win.

I would back Leeds to beat anybody at Elland Road - they love playing in front of their home fans, and have so much quality going forward that will hurt so many teams this season.

Brentford just don't score enough goals for my liking since the departure of Neal Maupay to Brighton, and I can't see it being too much of a happy return for Pontus Jansson on Wednesday night.
