David Prutton has predicted Nottingham Forest to come away with all three points when they face Stoke City on Friday night.
The Reds come into the game in fine form having stayed unbeaten in the Championship since the opening day and picking up impressive victories at Fulham and Swansea.
Stoke have been quite the contrast, they’ve failed to win any of their opening eight fixtures and that run has seen them sit deep in the relegation zone with manager, Nathan Jones, under severe pressure.
Both sides faced defeat in the Carabao Cup this week, but it will be Sabri Lamouchi’s side that go into the game with the upper hand in terms of confidence.
Prutton has predicted the away side to clinch all three points, as he opts for a 2-0 scoreline in Forest’s favour.
Speaking in his Sky Sports column, Prutton said: “It feels like I have said this every week, probably because I have! But this really could be make or break for Nathan Jones. The defeat at Crawley on penalties in the Carabao Cup in midweek was another real blow for Stoke’s season.
“Nottingham Forest, despite their thrashing at Arsenal, are in pretty decent nick in the Championship and haven’t lost since the opening day. They should have too much confidence and see off Stoke.”
Both these sides have had quite the start to the season, but in completely different ways. Stoke have been dreadful and sit in an awful position with Prutton thinking it’s now make or break for Jones.
Forest have started well and look very good in terms of their tactical approach and discipline in fixtures. They have a manager who seems to have out-thought some of the better sides in the division which will only hold them in good stead for the coming season.
I think Forest will come away with a victory, and that could spell the end for Jones’ tenure in charge at Stoke.
