After what has been a pulsating week of Championship action, it continues once more this weekend with matchday 20 as we approach the halfway mark of the 2018/19 campaign.

As always after the international break, the fixtures come thick and fast, and that is even more applicable now with the festive period approaching.

We are on the cusp of December and a busy month ahead for teams up and down the country and the first stop on a fast-paced voyage to the New Year is this weekend when Rotherham United head to Carrow Road to take on leaders Norwich City.

Daniel Farke’s side need the points to maintain and hopefully increase their lead at the top of the table with a clutch of club’s breathing down their necks.

Paul Warne’s men, meanwhile, need the win to pull further clear of the group of clubs hovering in and around the relegation zone.

Ahead of the match, Sky Sports enlisted the help of ex-professional turned pundit, David Prutton, to try and predict the outcome of the clash.

The EFL presenter said: “Their winning run had to come to an end eventually, but I must admit I was a little surprised to see Norwich held at Hull, having tipped them for a comfortable victory!

“This is a great chance for them to get back to winning ways against a Rotherham side who are unbeaten in seven, but six of those have been draws, and they are still without a win on the road this season.

“Home win for me. 2-0.”

The verdict

Rotherham United are on a hiding to nothing this weekend, and it could well be seen as a free hit.

And that could potentially be dangerous for Norwich City who almost came unstuck the last time they were at home to Millwall.

A last-gasp comeback saw them avoid an upset, and the Millers could well cause the same problems.

Especially as the Canaries drew a blank against another struggling side, Hull, in midweek.

It certainly will not be an easy game, and Daniel Farke’s side will need to be on point if they are to get a win they desperately need to stay top of the league.
