Blackpool host AFC Wimbledon in League One on Saturday following back-to-back cup games.
The Seasiders get back to league action following a 4-1 win over Morecambe in the FA Cup last weekend and a 1-0 win over Wolves’ under-23s on Tuesday in the EFL Trophy.
Last time out in the league, Blackpool came out on-top against high-flying Peterborough United in a thrilling 4-3 victory at Bloomfield Road.
A victory could see Blackpool move as high as fourth in the league table and draw level with third-placed Peterborough United should results go their way on Saturday.
Blackpool fans may be forgiven in feeling optimistic ahead of the clash with the Dons, only outside of the relegation zone on goal-difference, and only one win on the road so far this term.
As it is the international break for the Championship, a selection of League One clubs have made the former Leeds United man’s list, including Blackpool’s clash with AFC Wimbledon.
The former midfielder has opted for a comfortable 2-0 win for Simon Grayson’s men, saying: “Blackpool are among the bunch of teams in League One who look like they could very well make the top six, and this is the kind of game they ought to be winning if they want to make the play-offs.”
It is hard to argue with Prutton here, Blackpool will be most people’s picks for the result between the two sides and even more so given the Seasiders have not lost on home-soil since September.
It will be interesting to see how AFC Wimbledon approach this game as underdogs but I can’t see the Dons getting anything from their trip to Lancashire.
