Sky Sports EFL pundit David Prutton has predicted that Coventry City will hold high-flying Watford to a 2-2 draw when they travel to Vicarage Road on Saturday.

The two Championship new boys meet tomorrow afternoon having had different fortunes through the first few months of the 2020/21 campaign, with Watford fourth and the Sky Blues one place above the relegation zone in 21st.

Even so, in his predictions for Sky Sports, Prutton has suggested that Mark Robins' side will hold the Hornets to a 2-2 draw at Vicarage Road tomorrow.

Watford look to have one of the strongest squads in the Championship on paper, having been relegated from the Premier League last term, but you feel we've not yet seen them reach top gear.

Coventry will likely feel they're unlikely to be where they are considering the performances they have produced, having seen a number of games go against them late on.

Their defeat to Nottingham Forest in midweek was one such game as Lyle Taylor's 97th-minute penalty gave the hosts all three points at the City Ground.

The two sides have not met in the league since the 2011/12 season, in which both ties ended as goalless draws.

The Verdict

Given where the two clubs are in the Championship table, this is a strong prediction from Prutton.

There's no doubt that there is a gap between the two squads on paper but Coventry will feel if they continue to work hard they can get something because the Hornets haven't looked their best this term.

If Vladimir Ivic can get his side firing you feel they should have too much for the Sky Blues but that is a big if.
