David Prutton has predicted Sheffield Wednesday to come away with all three points when they visit Cardiff City on Friday night.

The Owls have been in good form so far in the current campaign, and Garry Monk will be happy with the way things have gone in his opening fixtures as manager.

Cardiff have been rather inconsistent in their performances, but they are unbeaten at home, so Sheffield Wednesday will know they have to be at their best to leave with three points on Friday.

Ex Wednesday midfielder, Prutton, has predicted the Owls to run out 2-1 winners in Cardiff, with a victory that could prove any doubters of Monk wrong.

Speaking in his Sky Sports column, Prutton said: "Cardiff are turning into a 'home' team in the Championship this year, which is strange because they were very good at picking up points on the road in their promotion season in 2017/18.

"Garry Monk will be pleased enough with the start he has had at Sheffield Wednesday, picking up 10 points from his five games so far. Despite Cardiff's good home form, I actually fancy the Owls to nick a win."

The Verdict

It's set to be an interesting tie when these two meet, with both probably having targets of play-off places for the current season.

The Owls have looked quite good this season, but often suffer little blips which makes you wonder whether they're ready to be contenders for promotion. Monk is a good manager and he'll have them well set-up, it's just whether he can take them to that next level.

Neil Warnock will be hoping he continue his fine home record, and that his Cardiff side can bounce back from the defeat that they suffered at West Brom before the international break. If they want to be back in the Premier League then they have to find a way to be more consistent.
