Tranmere Rovers head into the play-off final today in League Two knowing a win against Newport County can send them firmly back on their way to where they feel they belong.

A fallen club in the last decade or so, Rovers have built themselves back up to be within just one game of landing a place back in the third tier of English football with the ultimate goal no doubt to get themselves back into the Championship.

And Sky Sports pundit and football analyst David Prutton is backing Tranmere to make that giant step towards glory today, backing Mick Mellon's men to see off the their Welsh counterparts and cement a place in League One.

"James Norwood, has been the standout player in League Two this season and if anyone will provide that moment at Wembley, it will be him." Prutton told Sky Sports.

"Newport have been brilliant in cup competitions under Michael Flynn, but I just-about back Tranmere to nick it."

The game at Wembley today marks a stark change in the fortunes of both clubs from their expected levels at the start of the season, with Newport in particular impressing across all fronts after a good cup run earlier in the campaign.

Rovers will be hoping striker Norwood can add to his impressive tally of goals and get them over the line as they seek to finally get themselves back on an upward curve and heading towards Championship football once again.
