Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has issued his prediction for Leeds United's clash with Cardiff City, suggesting the game will end in a 1-1 draw in the Welsh capital.

The EFL released a statement yesterday that stated all Football League games would go ahead as normal this weekend, despite the worldwide coronavirus outbreak causing postponements and cancellations in other countries.

Leeds arrive at the Cardiff City Stadium high on confidence after their win against Huddersfield Town last weekend helped them to leapfrog West Bromwich Albion and go top of the Championship.

Victory against the Bluebirds would make it six on the bounce for Marcelo Bielsa's men, who appear to have found form at the perfect time.

However, the trip to face Cardiff looks unlikely to be an easy one for the Whites.

The Welsh side are pushing for the play-offs and will now a win tomorrow would be a huge step in the right direction.

Neil Harris has caused problems for Leeds in the past and this Cardiff side produced a stunning comeback in the 3-3 draw at Elland Road in December.

Writing for Sky Sports, Prutton has suggested that the scores will end level again and predicted a 1-1 draw.

He explained: "Cardiff are still within reach of the play-offs under Neil Harris, and a win over Leeds would provide them a huge boost.

"It's five wins on the spin for Leeds, now. That win over Huddersfield was very important for them last week, and they look to be bursting with confidence again. Draw here for me."

That result could see the Baggies move above Leeds in the table once more, while Cardiff could close the gap on the top six to just a point.

The Verdict

This is a bold call from Prutton and you can certainly see his reasoning. Both sides have been in good form and have a lot to play for.

With both Millwall and Cardiff, Harris has caused problems for Leeds, so you'd imagine it will be a tough afternoon for the Whites.

Even so, it's hard to see them losing at the moment with the end of the season in sight.

There's a chance that they may just blow past the Bluebirds in the Welsh capital.
