Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has backed Brentford to beat Norwich 1-0 when the two teams go head to head at The Brentford Community Stadium tonight.
Two late goals from Marcus Forss were not enough to claim anything for Brentford as they went down 3-2 away to Stoke on Saturday, leaving them 11th in the current Championship standings, two points adrift of the play-offs.
Norwich meanwhile, were bailed out by a late Mario Vrancic winner for the second game in a row on Saturday, with the Bosnian’s stunning stoppage time free-kick securing a 2-1 win over struggling Wycombe.
As a result of that, the Canaries currently sit fifth in the Championship table, only one point off the automatic promotion places.
Despite that, Prutton believes it will be Thomas Franck’s side who claim all three points on Tuesday night, when the two teams face off in London.
Writing in his regular predictions column for Sky Sports, the former Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest midfielder is tipping the Bees to claim a 1-0 win when the two sides meet.
You can kind of understand the suggestion that Prutton is making with his prediction here.
Although they are in the stronger position in the table, Norwich have been far from convincing with those recent wins against two out of form sides in the shape of Birmingham and Wycombe recently.
As a result, Daniel Farke’s side could now come unstuck against arguably higher quality opposition with last season’s play-off runners up, who certainly have the firepower to overhaul the Canaries, with Ivan Toney taking brilliantly to the Championship, and Forss picking up some individual momentum and confidence with his double at the weekend.
