Nottingham Forest will be looking to kickstart their season this weekend, when they take on play-off chasing Middlesbrough at the Riverside. 

The Reds head into the game sat 20th in the Championship table, and will be confident of picking up a positive result after a battling 1-1 draw with Luton Town in their most recent fixture, despite having ten men for over half of the match at Kenilworth Road.

It's been a frustrating league campaign to date for the City Ground faithful, but performances have improved slightly since Chris Hughton took charge of the club.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion boss will be well-aware of the threat that Middlesbrough will pose on Saturday though, as they look to build on some strong performances of their own.

Boro won their last match 2-0 against Coventry City, in a dominant display from Neil Warnock's side, who are now sat eighth in the Championship table after their opening eight matches of the 2020/21 season.

Sky Sports' EFL pundit David Prutton has predicted a 1-1 draw for the clash between Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough, in what is likely to be a fiercely-competitive encounter between the two sides.

Nottingham Forest are are just a point clear of the relegation zone, which will have supporters looking nervously over their shoulders in the early stages of this year's league campaign.

The Verdict: 

I think this will be a closely-fought match between two sides that will be eyeing a top-six finish in the Championship this season.

Middlesbrough have shown promising signs under the management of Neil Warnock this season, and I think they'll trouble the teams challenging for promotion this term.

But Nottingham Forest are starting to find their feet under the management of Chris Hughton, and this could be the match where they 'click' into gear.

I can see Forest sneaking a win against Boro in this one.
