As ever Sky Sports' EFL expert David Prutton has issued his predictions for the mid-week round of Championship fixtures, including Huddersfield Town's game against struggling Middlesbrough.

Not many would have predicted that by match-day 13 these two sides would be 21st and 22nd in the Championship but after both clubs suffered terrible starts to the season, the loser in Wednesday night's match will find themselves in the bottom three.

Town, already occupy that place but are unbeaten in their last four games, winning two and drawing two.

Middlesbrough however are in contrasting form, having not won in five league matches since defeating Reading on 14th September.

Jonathan Woodgate has suffered a baptism of fire at the Riverside with his side only winning two league games and being dumped out of the EFL Cup by League Two side Crewe.

Writing in his "Prutton Predicts" feature on the Sky Sports News wesbite, Prutton says that despite Town being back in the relegation zone this shouldn't worry Danny Cowley too much.

Ultimately he predicts that Middlesbrough will not get anything from Wednesday's game and Boro will drop into the relegation zone, with a 2-0 defeat at the John Smith's stadium.

The Verdict

It is hard to disagree with David Prutton here.

Although both sides have had poor starts to the season, Town are now in decent form and the Cowley's have clearly bought some momentum to West Yorkshire.

Unfortunately for Middlesbrough their poor form does not seem to want to go away and with their team low on confidence, coming to a rejuvenated Huddersfield side will be a tough ask.

Danny Cowley will be determined to lift Huddersfield out of the drop-zone and unfortunately for Jonathan Woodgate and Middlesbrough it will be at their expense.
