Sky Sports EFL pundit David Prutton has suggested there will be more doom and gloom for Derby County when they travel to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

The two clubs have had contrasting fortunes through the first month and a half of the 2020/21 campaign, with the Rams one place above the bottom three and Bournemouth in the automatic promotion places.

Phillip Cocu's side have won just once in the Championship this season and Prutton has predicted that won't change on Saturday.

According to his EFL predictions for Sky Sports, Derby's trip to the South Coast will be an unsuccessful one and the hosts will claim a 2-0 victory.

That result could see the Cherries go top of the league and their opponents drop down into the bottom three.

Jason Tindall's men have made a strong start to life back in the second tier of English football and are unbeaten in their eight games since they returned to the Championship – winning four.

With the likes of Josh King, Arnaut Danjuma, and Jefferson Lerma in their squad, they look a dangerous proposition for the Rams and Cocu.

Pressure has mounted on the Dutchman after the shaky start he's made to the season and time may be running out for him to turn things around.

Are these 12 facts about the Rams’ history genuine or not?

The Verdict

It's hard to disagree with Prutton on this one.

Derby have been poor this season and even after taking the lead against Cardiff City in midweek they struggled to take control of the game, eventually conceding an equaliser.

They take on a side that is packed with former Premier League talent and that difference in quality will surely prove too much for Cocu's men.
