David Prutton has stated that he thinks Swansea will remain on top of the table when they face lowly Stoke City on Saturday.

The Swans come into the game on the back of an impressive victory over a stubborn Charlton side at the Valley on Wednesday night.

Steve Cooper's side have been excellent so far this campaign and have lost just once, to a strong Nottingham Forest side.

Stoke come into the game sitting rock bottom, and their season has been nothing short of a disaster. Nathan Jones is still in charge, but surely it's only a matter of time before his job becomes untenable - especially if the Potters lose on Saturday.

Prutton has predicted the Swans to earn a 2-1 victory over Jones' side as he expects the gulf between the two sides to eventually show.

Speaking in his Sky Sports column, Prutton said: "Swansea are back on top of the table! They fell behind so early on against Charlton and you worried a little for them after three games without a win, but they bounced back superbly at The Valley.

"There is not much more to say about Stoke. Their season has been a disaster so far, and losing at home to Huddersfield only further compounded their misery. Nathan Jones will still be in charge at the Liberty, but I can't see their fortunes changing."

The Verdict

It should be a fairly straight forward victory for Swansea, especially after Stoke lost at home to lowly Huddersfield in midweek.

It's looking really bleak for Jones' side at the moment, and their confidence will be at its lowest point. The Potters will travel to the Liberty Stadium and still be backed by their fantastic away supporters and they'll just be hoping they can somehow stop the rot.

I think Swansea will run away with the three points and win by at least two clear goals.
