David Healy will be a well known name for Leeds, Sunderland and Ranger supporters after successful spells with the trio of clubs in his playing career.

The Northern Irish international made his first senior appearance for Manchester United in 1999, but he failed to make a significant impact with the Red Devils and left Old Trafford to join Preston North End in 2000.

He spent five seasons with the Lilywhites and scored 45 goals in 156 appearances, and this impressive record saw Healy earn a move to Leeds United in 2004.

The striker made a positive impact for the Whites, making 121 appearances, and scoring on 31 occasions before departing Elland Road in favour of a move to Fulham.

But his time with the London based side was short lived, and he moved up north to Sunderland after one season with Fulham.

Healy struggled for regular game time with the Black Cats and only made 21 appearances, and having scored only three goals in his time at the club, this was certainly an unsuccessful couple of seasons.

The forward then moved to Scottish giants, Rangers and enjoyed a huge amount of success up in Scotland, where he won a number of trophies.

Healy made 25 appearances in total across a two-season-spell with Rangers, and won the Scottish Premier League title and the Scottish League Cup in his first season with the Gers.

But after his contract expired after two years with the club he made the move to Bury, in what proved to be his last season in the professional game as a player.

After almost a two year break from the game following his retirement, Healy was appointed as manager of Northern Irish side, Linfield, which would have been a dream come true for the forward who has supported the club all of his life.

He hasn't looked back since his appointment either, as Linfield won the NIFL Premiership, Irish Cup and County Antrim Shield in Healy's first two seasons in charge of the club.

Linfield are currently 2nd in the league this season heading into the festive period, and Healy will be hoping he can guide his boyhood club to another league title this year.
