Nottingham Forest midfielder Brennan Johnson made his senior debut for the Wales national side on Thursday evening.

The youngster stepped off the substitutes bench after 62 minutes to feature in their goalless draw against USA in a friendly match.

Johnson is currently out on loan at League One side Lincoln City, and has made nine appearances so far for the Imps this term, as they look to challenge for promotion into the Championship.

Michael Appleton's side are currently sat fourth in the third-tier standings after their opening 11 matches of this year's campaign.

Johnson will be hoping he can play his part in their bid for promotion this season, before returning to the City Ground from his loan spell in League One.

The midfielder took to Instagram after making his debut for Wales, and labelled it as a 'night he will never forget'.

Former Manchester United and England legend David Beckham was quick to respond to Johnson's social post, and congratulated Johnson on his first international cap.

Johnson and his Lincoln City team-mates are next in action on Saturday 21st November after the international break when they take on Accrington Stanley.

The Verdict:

He's a player with a big future ahead of him.

Johnson impressed me when he was briefly in and around the Nottingham Forest first-team, and he'll be hoping he can continue to impress out on loan with Lincoln City this season.

It's good to see him winning his first cap for the Welsh national side, and he'll be keen to make it the first of many.

If he can build on these impressive recent showings, then I really wouldn't be surprised to see him involved in the Nottingham Forest first-team squad in the near future.
