Over the years, Nottingham Forest have had their fair share of talented goalkeepers at the City Ground.

Whereas the Reds haven't always managed to get their recruitment spot on when it comes to drafting in shot-stoppers, a number of individuals have left a lasting impression on the club since the turn of the century.

Signed by Forest on a permanent deal in 1997, Dave Beasant enjoyed a four-year spell with the club before opting to join Portsmouth in 2001.

During his time with the Reds, the shot-stopper produced a host of solid displays in-between the sticks as he helped the club achieve promotion to the Premier League.

Whilst Forest suffered relegation to the Championship in 1999, Beasant continued to deliver the goods for his side under the guidance of then-manager David Platt.

In 2008, the Reds opted to bolster their options in the goalkeeping position by signing Lee Camp on loan from Queens Park Rangers.

After illustrating some real signs of promise during his temporary spell at the club, the 35-year-old was signed on a permanent basis ahead of the 2009/10 campaign.

A mainstay in the Reds' side between 2009 and 2013, Camp kept a total of 59 clean-sheets in 193 appearances.

This season has seen the emergence of Brice Samba who has excelled at times for Forest in the second-tier under the guidance of boss Sabri Lamouchi.

After a member of the Original Nottingham Forest Supporters Group asked who has been the club's best goalkeeper of the 21st century, these Forest fans weighed in on the debate on Facebook...

Andy Perks: "Dave Beasant."

Kevin Smedley: "Paul Gerrard."

David Blacknall: "Not Samba."

Matthew Wade: "Lee Camp had 2 really good season for us, Samba well off the boil.

"Let's be honest we haven't had many to shout about."

Billy Billson: "Lee Camp, definitely in modern times."

Eddie Salisbury: "I thought it was definitely Samba, but he's not doing too well of late.

"We need him back to his best, every successful team has a good keeper."

Paul Garner: "Until Billy Davies left for the first time, Camp was excellent."
