West Brom boss Darren Moore heaped praise on Dwight Gayle after the striker scored the two decisive goals in Albion's win over Stoke.

The on-loan Newcastle scored opened the scoring with a fine individual goal, showing superb skill to beat the Potters backline, then rounding Jack Butland.

He then gave the hosts a cushion in the second half, latching onto a long pass to score past the England international again.

It makes it three in five for Gayle this season and Moore told the Express & Star he was delighted for the 27-year old.

"He scored two very good goals today and his calmness and composure when he gets in front of goal is there for all to see. I’m really pleased for Dwight because after impressive team-play that led up to the goal he was able to tuck them away."

The victory moved Albion up to eighth in the table, with Moore's men having collected ten points from their first six games.

They face a local derby against Birmingham City after the international break.

The Verdict

When Albion signed Gayle everyone knew they had a proven goalscorer and it hasn't taken him long to settle into his new team.

He showed his quality against the Potters and his first goal was brilliant, so he is certainly worthy of praise from the boss.

If he stays fit for the entire season then you wouldn't back against him finishing up as the top scorer in the league.
