Sheffield Wednesday boss Darren Moore has confirmed that Barry Bannan will be available for tomorrow's FA Cup tie against Plymouth Argyle.

The midfielder has been an influential player for the Owls this season, so it was a concern for all connected to the club when the playmaker was forced off in the second half of the emphatic win over Sunderland in the week.

However, speaking to the club's media, Moore gave a positive update on the 31-year-old, and the rest of the squad.

"Bannan should be fit and available for Sunday which is good news. Everyone seems to be OK, we should have the same players available to us as in midweek."

Whilst the league is the priority for Wednesday this season, the Yorkshire outfit will want to progress in the cup and they will be given a stern test against Ryan Lowe's side who are second in the third tier.

Moore is expected to name a strong XI for the game as his side look to continue their momentum following the Sunderland win.

The verdict

This is very good news for Wednesday as even though Bannan hasn't been at his best at times this season, he is still an important player for this team with the way he controls play.

So, Moore will be relieved that the Scotsman is fit and it will be interesting to see whether he is in from the off against Plymouth.

This will be a good test for Wednesday and the team need to try and build on the midweek success as they look to really get their season going.
