Sheffield Wednesday manager Darren Moore has revealed that Florian Kamberi could be in contention to feature for the club in their upcoming clash with Ipswich Town.
The forward has been forced to watch on from the sidelines after suffering an injury setback in December.
Kamberi opted to go to Switzerland to visit a surgeon in an attempt to resolve his issue.
In the 26-year-old's absence, Wednesday have struggled to deliver the goods on a consistent basis in League One.
Whilst the Owls did show signs of promise during their victories over Crewe Alexandra and Plymouth Argyle, their progress has been hindered by defeats to Sunderland, Shrewsbury Town and Oxford United.
Despite taking the lead on two separate occasions against the U's last weekend, the Owls were unable to prevent their opponents from securing all three points in this fixture as former striker Sam Winnall netted the winner for Karl Robinson's side in the 84th minute.
Set to face an Ipswich side on Saturday who have won three of their last four league games, Wednesday will need to be at their very best in order to secure a positive result at Hillsborough.
Ahead of this clash, Moore has shared an update on Kamberi.
Speaking to Yorkshire Live about the forward, Moore said: "We hope he can have a full week of training.
"Hopefully he is another player we can have back in contention [for the Ipswich game]."
The Verdict
This is an encouraging update for Wednesday as Kamberi has illustrated some signs of promise since joining the club on a temporary basis from St. Gallen last year.
During the 13 league games that he has played for the Owls this season, the forward has managed to find the back of the net on four occasions.
Providing that he is able to emerge unscathed from training this week, Kamberi could be in line to make his return to action against Ipswich.
If he is given the nod to feature in this particular fixture, Kamberi will need to produce an eye-catching display as there is currently a great deal of competition for places in the attacking positions at Hillsborough.
