Having lost only one of their last five fixtures in all competitions, Sheffield Wednesday are looking a strong side at the moment and currently sit in a comfortable eighth place in the League One table at the moment.

However, the Owls have now suffered a blow with the news that both Dennis Adeniran and Marvin Johnson will be missing for the club's next fixture against Accrington at the weekend, as Darren Moore told the club's official website that they 'don't have timescales' for the return of either player yet.

Adeniran has been a regular in the side so far this season, making 15 appearances and bagging three goals to date. The 22-year-old has looked bright in midfield for Wednesday during the campaign and for him to now have to sit out of games is sure to be a big blow going forward, with the Owls already struggling to get players fit.

Johnson is another mainstay of the current Owls' first-team squad but he won't be back anytime soon either, having sat out of the club's last game with an injury.

Speaking to the club's official website about the two fresh blows to his team, Darren Moore said: "We will have to have a look at the squad and the injuries.

"We have lost two more players to soft tissue injuries in the last four days. Marvin has got a hamstring injury and so has Dennis and at this point we don’t have timescales. Dennis will be out for Saturday and so will Marvin."

It means that the club will have to try and secure another valuable three points against Accrington at the weekend without two important players. Although Wednesday do have a solid squad, injuries are leaving them bare and to lose two more will certainly give Moore a selection headache ahead of that next League One clash.

The Verdict

Both Dennis Adeniran and Marvin Johnson have been regulars in the Sheffield Wednesday team so far this campaign, so their injuries are bound to be felt hard by Darren Moore. He could really have used both of them this weekend but instead he will have to try and get a good result without them.

The Owls have not struggled this season by any means yet - but with the injuries piling up, and to important players, they will need to ensure their form does not drop during this patch. If they can come out of it unscathed, then they should still be okay for at least a play-off spot this campaign.
