Sheffield Wednesday boss Darren Moore has confirmed that he is still on the lookout for new signings ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.
The Owls have had a very busy summer as the boss puts his mark on the squad as he gears up for his first full season in charge. And, the early signs are positive, with several new recruits starring to help Wednesday to top of League One at this early stage.
Despite that excellent start, Moore has warned against complacency and he told Yorkshire Live that they will remain with an eye on the market as he searches for more quality.
“There is nothing really to talk about or get excited about. At the moment, things are quiet. Are we looking? Yes we have been looking at maybe one or two more. At the moment, there is nothing really imminent that I can report on. Yes, actively looking but that’s where it is at the moment.”
Wednesday will hope to continue on their strong run of form when they take on Morecambe this afternoon.
Do you remember which player scored Sheffield Wednesday’s first goal in each of the last 15 seasons?
This is exciting news for Wednesday fans because the squad isn’t desperately lacking in any areas, so it’s not like they will be panicking as the deadline approaches.
As well as that, they will be very encouraged by the calibre of players that have come through the door in the past month or so.
Clearly, they trust Moore to find the right signing and it will be interesting to see if they close any more deals ahead of the deadline, with Moore’s tone suggesting he’s quietly confident of doing so.
