West Bromwich Albion manager Darren Moore has admitted that the international break has come at a good time for his side, according to the Express and Star

The Baggies have been in terrific form of late and currently sit in second place and just one point behind table-toppers Sheffield United.

Yet, Moore is adamant that the break didn't come at the wrong time for his side who had built momentum in recent weeks.

I am pleased because it gives the opportunity to one or two to lick their wounds. It gives the opportunity to one or two on the treatment table to try and get them back."

It's certainly a welcome break for us but a time to reflect on all aspects, team shape, in possession, out of possession, and touch base on those aspects.”

The last international break arguably came at a dreadful time for the Baggies having just beaten pre-season title favourites Stoke City 2-1 at the Hawthorns.

But since then their season has only got better winning four out of their six matches and drawing the other two, with Moore winning the manager of the month award.

The Verdict

Moore is spot on here as the Championship can be a very demanding league.

It would be great for Albion to keep their winning momentum going but the international break is a great time to rest players ahead of another busy few weeks when they come back.

Additionally, the likes of Bakary Sako will also have the opportunity to get themselves up to full fitness before the return of domestic football.
