Former Coventry City forward Darren Huckerby has claimed that the club are heading back to where they belong following their latest victory over Sunderland in League One.
The 43-year-old, who played for the Sky Blues in the Premier League between 1996 and 1999, took to Twitter to react to their display against the Black Cats yesterday.
Coventry made the perfect start to clash as Matt Godden latched onto Jamie Allen's pass in the second minute and duly fired past goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin.
Undeterred by this setback, Sunderland went close to levelling up proceedings via efforts from Charlie Wyke and Tom Flanagan.
Following the break, the Black Cats had a goal disallowed for offside as Luke O'Nien diverted Max Power's effort into the back of the net.
Whilst Godden missed a great opportunity to double Coventry's lead in the closing stages of the clash, his side held on to seal all three points.
As a result of their 1-0 victory over Sunderland, the Sky Blues climbed up to the summit of the League One standings and are now five points clear of third-place.
Reflecting on his former side's triumph, Huckerby tweeted: "massive win for Coventry, heading back to where they belong!
"Fans deserve it."
Coventry will be looking to extend their current unbeaten run in League One to 14 games when they head to Portman Road this weekend to face Ipswich Town.

The Verdict
When you consider just how impressive Coventry have been in recent months, it would not be at all surprising if they seal automatic promotion to the Championship in May.
Currently thriving under the guidance of manager Mark Robins, the Sky Blues have set League One alight at times this season with the standard of their displays.
Providing that the likes of Godden, Callum O'Hare and Liam Kelly are able to deliver the goods on a consistent basis between now and the end of the season, Coventry will have a fantastic chance of winning the third-tier title.
Given that they will be brimming with confidence heading into Saturday's meeting with Ipswich, there is no reason why the Sky Blues cannot seal their seventh away league victory of the 2019/20 campaign at Portman Road.
