Former England international Darren Bent believes that Kamil Grosicki will prove to be an excellent signing for West Brom as they look to win promotion to the Premier League.

The Polish international completed a late move in the January window to The Hawthorns from Hull City but he has been restricted to three substitute appearances so far.

However, speaking to Football Insider, Bent revealed he feels Grosicki will come good and could be pivotal to the Baggies in the run-in.

"I think the signing of Grosicki tips them over the edge. I think that was a very good signing. I think at times he’s another one that has flattered to deceive, I don’t get it, you’re a top player.

"I’ve seen him play in teams in the Championship where he’s torn us to pieces but for whatever reason he never went on to really go and establish himself. I think this will be the time, I think that’s a great signing."

Albion, who travel to take on play-off hopefuls Bristol City this weekend, currently hold a six-point advantage over third place.

The verdict

You have to say that Albion had a superb January window, with Grosicki and Callum Robinson the standout signings on paper.

Even though the former Hull man hasn't made a big impact just yet, he has proven himself as a top player at this level, as Bent mentioned, so he will have a lot to offer.

For now, he has to be patient with the team playing so well but things change quickly in football and having such depth in the squad is great for Bilic.
