It has been a frustrating week for West Bromwich Albion, whose lead at the top of the Sky Bet Championship table has been decreased to just two points after a disappointing couple of games.
The Baggies’ week started in impressive style, picking up a smash-and-grab win away at Middlesbrough thanks to Hal Robson-Kanu’s late strike.
Slaven Bilic’s side would have been hoping to pick up two wins on the spin at The Hawthorns after that, as they prepared to come up against two newly-promoted sides in Barnsley and Charlton Athletic.
But Albion were left frustrated after what had been a hectic week, managing to pick up just two points against Barnsley and Charlton, drawing both games 2-2.
They came from behind to salvage a point against the Tykes, but threw away a 2-1 lead late on against the Addicks, in a game they really should have won.
Nevertheless, the Baggies still remain sitting at the top of the Sky Bet Championship table having lost just one of their first 14 games.
Albion full-back Darnell Furlong has recently took to Instagram to express his frustrations after a busy week of the campaign…
The home games against Charlton and Barnsley were perfect opportunities for Albion to extend their lead at the top of the table, but they were unable to take them which is a huge shame.
They have lacked cutting edge recently and need to start firing in the goals up top if they are to succeed this season.
Once they start doing that then they will put teams to bed much earlier on.
Will West Brom win automatic promotion?
