The Verdict

When you consider that O'Shea attracted transfer interest from Burnley earlier this summer, West Brom will be extremely happy that he has opted to agree to sign a contract extension.

During the 14 appearances that he made in the Championship last season, O'Shea managed to produce some assured performances.

The defender made 1.5 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 2.7 clearances per game as he averaged a WhoScored match rating of 7.09 at this level.

Providing that he is able to avoid injury and maintain his consistency over the course of the upcoming campaign, O'Shea could potentially help West Brom launch a push for automatic promotion.

The defender's versatility may also prove to be useful for the Baggies as he is capable of playing as a centre-back and as a full-back.
