Dara O’Shea has been thoroughly impressed with the start that midfield duo Alex Mowatt and Jake Livermore have made this season, speaking to the Express & Star.
The former was brought in this summer from Barnsley, following in the footsteps of Valerien Ismael, whilst Livermore is now embarking on his sixth straight season with The Baggies.
The pair are the club’s only out-and-out, senior options at present, following Romaine Sawyers loan move to Stoke City last week.
West Brom have made a bright start to the new campaign, picking up 10 points from their opening four games, which has pushed them into second spot.
An opening day draw at Bournemouth has been followed by three successive victories, with The Baggies hopeful of continuing in this vein when they visit Peterborough United this Saturday.
Speaking to the Express & Star, defender Dara O’Shea praised Mowatt and Livermore’s start to the new season: “Alex and Jake are the engine to this team. They keep us going.
“Without them, we wouldn’t be half the team we are. Alex has been unbelievable.”
The midfield partnership of Mowatt and Livermore has instantly worked, and whilst a lot of focus has been on the club’s attacking options, the pair have made an exceptional start to the season.
The club’s options are thin in the middle of the park, but they are two quality players who if kept fit, will play an integral part in West Brom’s expected promotion push.
Both players have an exceptional range of passing and have displayed a willingness to work hard and win possession back for their team.
It is a very exciting midfield duo and both will be eager to do all they can to get the Midlands club promoted back to the top tier.
