Huddersfield Town right-back Danny Simpson has issued a fond message to new signing and ex-Leicester teammate Andy King, following his move to the club.

The Terriers today completed the signing of Welsh midfielder Andy King on-loan from Leicester City until the end of the season, and he joins up with former Foxes teammate Danny Simpson in the Championship under Danny Cowley.

King has spent his whole senior career on the books at Leicester City while Simpson joined the club in 2014, with the pair going on to lift the Premier League title at the King Power Stadium in incredible circumstances back in 2016.

Simpson left the club in the summer and since joined Cowley’s Huddersfield side on a free transfer, shoring up the defence very well in that time and helped the club climb out of the relegation zone.

Huddersfield confirmed the loan capture of Andy King from Leicester for the rest of the season and links up with his former teammate Simpson.

With the pair linking up after such a historic connection being made at Leicester, Simpson shared a fond message on Twitter for the midfielder following his arrival:

Simpson and King are both available to play at the weekend when the Terriers host Brentford at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Can you remember the Player of the Season for Huddersfield in recent years?

The verdict

Cowley has brought in three very good signings already in this transfer window with King joining up with Richard Stearman and Emile Smith-Rowe, adding in areas where they have needed to based on recent months.

It will be even easier for King to settle in at Huddersfield with Simpson there to help him hit the ground running, along with the great mentality that Cowley has managed to instil already at the John Smith’s.
