Reading striker Danny Loader has attracted the attention of several clubs recently, with Arsenal the latest club to have reportedly planned a transfer bid.

The 18-year-old, who was born in Reading, enjoyed a breakthrough season this year and even scored his first goal for the club against Middlesbrough in April.

He has looked impressive so far and his form was rewarded with an England u20 call up to the prestigious Toulon tournament this summer. He could emulate his Reading team-mate John Swift by winning the tournament, but the experience of playing alongside other talented youngsters should aid his development.

Reading fans will, of course, hope they get to see more of Loader in a Royals shirt before he is pinched by a Premier League club. He is, after all, a product of their youth system and the club deserves to see reward on the pitch for the work they have conducted in nurturing his talent.

His goal against Middlesbrough was a superb example of what the striker is capable of, and is well worth a watch. With just three touches he received the ball from a throw-in and send in flying into the top corner, leaving the 'keeper no chance. It was a goal worthy of winning Reading's goal of the season award.

It was an example of his brilliant technique, but he also has pace and power to match. He loves running in behind the defence and can cause problems with or without the ball.

According to The Sun he has also attracted interest from Juventus and Borussia Monchengladbach, and he could be available for as little as £3 million given Reading's financial predicament.

However, he should stay at the club he's been a part of since he was young. The Championship is perfect for young players to develop in, players like Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Max Aarons are proof of how regular game time in a competitive league can allow a player to make huge strides of progress.

Although still only 18, Loader still has a lot to prove. He has been talked up and rightly so, but he must focus and choose the path which is right for him. Currently, the only thing that matters is game time, and now he has broken into the Reading squad he has the ideal platform to express himself.
