Danny Haynes made 23 appearances for the club last season and only scored four goals before he went on loan to Hibernian in January. He scored one goal in nine appearances for the Scottish Premier club.

Shaun Derry told BBC Nottinghamshire “I see him at Notts for this season,

“He’s had too many chances, and now he has to take this one because there might not be many more in the future.

“He is at a crossroads in his career and I’m not saying anything that I haven’t said to him in person.

“When we made the decision to allow him to go to Hibs, it was one that was made through honesty – we were open with each other,” said Derry.

“He needed to get away from the club for various reasons and I needed him away from the club for various reasons.

“I actually believe in Danny Haynes,”
