Blackburn Rovers have enjoyed a successful return to the Championship after securing a mid-table finish following their League One promotion last season.

Tony Mowbray's side currently sit 14th in the table ahead of their final game against Swansea City, but they have finished the season in style by winning four of their last five matches.

One key man has been pivotal for Rovers this term, with striker Danny Graham netting 15 league goals to pick up Blackburn's Players' Player of the Year award.

Graham found himself frozen out of the side in League One, but Mowbray has placed his trust in the 33-year-old by handing him 42 appearances.

The former Watford man has now credited Rovers' boss for his upturn in form, claiming he has Mowbray to thank for reviving his career.

"I think finding myself out of the team during our season in League One was the best thing that could have happened to me," he told the club website.

"Myself and the gaffer spoke and he felt I wasn't working hard enough for the team. Since I've done that I've got my chance and managed to keep the shirt."

This has been Graham's most prolific season since he scored 27 Championship goals for Watford in the 2010/11 season.

He will now look to cap off his season in style when he faces his former club Swansea City on Sunday.

The Verdict

Blackburn have had a solid season on their Championship return, and Graham has been a big part of that.

He has looked much more like the Graham of old, who was clinical in the Championship before he made his Premier League switch.

Rovers will hope to benefit from his experience again next term as they push to finish higher up the table.
