Huddersfield Town manager Danny Cowley has suggested that he feels his side need to improve the way they play out the final moments of their matches when in front, following the Terriers 3-0 win at home to Hull City in the final match before the international break.

That win was Huddersfield's second consecutive victory and lifted the Terriers out of the Championship's bottom three, and the fact that Cowley's side managed to both improve their production in front of goal, scoring three goals in the last half an hour of the game, and record back to back clean sheets will be hugely encouraging for the former Lincoln City manager.

However, Huddersfield despite being three goals ahead were guilty of perhaps not playing out the final minutes as comfortablly as Cowley would have liked, with the Terriers giving the ball back to Hull to easily in the closing minutes of the contest.

Speaking to the Huddersfield Examiner, Cowley expressed his happiness with the result and that fact his side kept a clean sheet, but also suggested that his side need to improve their ability to close out matches when in front, saying: "We've just got to learn how to see games out - we just stopped playing.

"I know we have had three tough games but, come on, we have got to play to the end. Hull left four or five up and what we needed to do was just control the ball in their half and we could have picked them off - played two touch, moved it quickly and gained control.

"But we can work towards that. That is probably the fine detail. We will always be striving for perfection - we might never get there but we will always be striving for it.

"The clean sheet was the most important thing. I did not want us to concede at the end." The Verdict A few games ago Cowley would have been delighted if his only issue with his side was their ability to not see out wins exactly how we would like from them, and the fact that in the win against Hull that was his main gripe highlights the job he has done so far in transforming Huddersfield's fortunes on the pitch. Huddersfield's back to back wins at Stoke City and against Hull will have inspired confidence within the squad that they can go on a positive run of form and climb the table, and Cowley's side will be aiming to carry their momentum through to the other side of the international break. The Terriers have been much improved since Cowley took charge and Huddersfield will be hoping that they have managed to negotiate their worst period of the season, and can look to build some momentum and climb the league table in the coming weeks and months.
