Huddersfield Town manager Danny Cowley has provided a number of positive injury updates in regards to recent missing players.

Despite experiencing a mini-revival since Cowley's arrival back in September, the Terriers still find themselves just five points clear of the Championship relegation zone.

Town travel to Swansea City tomorrow before hosting Bristol City but despite two tricky fixtures, Cowley has revealed reasons to be upbeat.

Should Town manage to walk away from the Liberty Stadium with all three points tomorrow and results go their way they could open up an eight-point gap on the bottom three.

An added boost for Town is that Alex Pritchard, and Karlan Grant are all closing in on a return to action.

On Elphick, who has been missing through a knee ligament injury since November, Cowley told the club's media channels that: "We’ve had everyone on the grass, but Tommy Elphick, which has been the best in terms of the health of the group.

"It’s given a real competition for places," the manager noted.

Cowley also provided an update on Alex Pritchard, who has also been missing since November through a knee injury, saying: "Pritchard is available for selection. He’s worked hard and is desperate to get back."

Top scorer Karlan Grant has missed Town's last three matches after picking up a knock in training but Cowley told the media that: "Grant has been on the grass. We are hopeful he will be back.

"Kamil Grabara is going through the concussion protocol," the former Lincoln City boss added, with the 21-year-old set to miss a fifth successive match after picking up a head injury against Hull City last month.

Following the Swansea and Bristol City games, Town face two tough away trips to promotion-chasing Leeds United and Nottingham Forest, and Cowley will be hoping he has a fully fit squad to choose from for these trips.

The Verdict

The returning players will no doubt be a big boost to Cowley and everyone connected with Town, especially with their tough run just around the corner.

Although it may provide Cowley with some kind of selection dilemma, it will be a dilemma that is more than welcomed by Cowley.

Alex Pritchard will certainly give the Terriers and added dynamic going forward. As for Karlan Grant, his goals certainly won't go amiss as Town look to secure their Championship status and it will be interesting to see what these returns will have on Town's performances and results.
